Elon and the race to make things cheap

Elon Musk the owner of Space X, the largest private sector space company in the world. Musk’s goal is to revolutionize the space industry. In the past, it required years of government funding and countless man hours to create one mission. The Apollo missions took 25.6 billion dollars and years just for six missions to the moon and surrounding space. Musk’s goal is to make space travel hardware much cheaper and streamlined to manufacture but also maintaining safety standards.

So far rocket booster re usability allows Space X to refurbish rockets instead of crashing them and rebuilding them. It cuts the cost down for each launch from nearly a billion to 62 million.
